But as the moments pass, the younger kids and teammates all talking about their new power, you suddenly feel it. The twins' ki vanishes, disappearing as they merge their powers fully.
The Namekian Nail clearly senses this as well, his head whipping around towards your kids' power within the home.
“That's their, well, I'm not sure what to call it.” you tell him, the warrior turning questioningly to you. So you explain the twins' condition, Nail hanging on every word and nodding along.
“I see. So your people are more like my own than I imagined.” he says, and now it's your turn to be confused. So, he explains how Namekians can split themselves into two separate beings, possessing different minds but their souls remain linked. And if one were to be killed, the other would perish at the same time. We can also fuse ourselves together, but the ritual is rarely used.”
“Fusion?” you ask, remembering the Time Patrollers who can fuse themselves together and gain enough strength to battle Future Chaya. “That's a powerful technique.”
“Yes, but it comes at a cost.” he says, expression serious. “When our people fuse together, the one who donates their power to the other ceases to have autonomy. Their existence is restricted to only observing the world through the 'host' Namekian's senses, unable to communicate or act anymore.”
“That's....Terrifying.” you say, shocked by how awful their method of fusion sounds. You can't conceive any worse fate than being trapped and unable to act, helplessly watching the world go by. “I can see why your people's fusion is so disused.”
“Indeed.” he says, but before either of you can say more, you feel it. Tatsu and Tomi's combined ki, or rather Tomitsu's powerlevel suddenly explodes! Their bodies power spikes dramatically as you both whirl back towards the door, the entire mountain trembling. It's begun.
