>>5378061Not wanting to end up surrounded by the oncoming waves of guards, you redouble your efforts to push through the front with Julia, whose arms currently look like a couple of medieval maces.
In the back, you hear Valjean and Bernard scuffling with the guards as well, bodies falling left and right between Bernard’s speedy fists and Valjean’s brainwashing, and, while it seems like they’re sorely outnumbered, the guards are far outmatched in terms of raw skill and power.
“Man, these guys sure don’t know when to call it quits.” Bernard huffs, straightening back into a fighting stance when the next troupe of prison guards rounds the corner. This group, unlike the last one, is armed with long, metallic rods instead of their usual tranquilizer guns– rods that you doubt are anything good.
One of them lunges for Bernard, who teleports out of their reach, only to knock them down from behind. Valjean, meanwhile, makes quick work of the frontmost guards with the help of his tranquilizer.
However, the number of enemy men is no laughing matter, more guards already having come to replace the ones that have been downed. Unwilling to let the other males be at the guards’ mercy, Boleski doubles back towards where Bernard and Valjean are gearing up to fight the next group of guards.
“St…and back!” Boleski shouts, rearing up his wings for an attack. That’s all it takes to have Bernard and Valjean ducking for cover as thick gobs of acid are fired across the airspace where the two males had just been standing.
The once-white hallway is left utterly desecrated, and the guards who either hadn’t gotten out of the way in time or didn’t take Boleski seriously enough to care absolutely crumple to the ground.
Scents of acid, flesh, and blood fill the hallway, intermingling together and sending that animalistic part of your brain alight, but you ignore it in favor of driving your fist into another guard’s sternum.
While the guard is still alive, he doesn’t get up. That’s the last of them on your end, at least for now. In the back, the guards are having their own problems trying to get around and out of the acidic aftermath Boleski had left for them, the floors corroded enough that it’d be downright dangerous for them to walk across.
