[ MUZAN WARD ]
Never in my life have I seen such crude and oppressive walls standing as tall as these beyond those that protect the Imperial Seat itself. It seemed that everywhere on the islands of Yongesia, there was a watchtower somewhere, and walls and emplacements. It was a heavily fortified place, no wonder they called it the 'Sword Continent', or 'Land of the Sword'. Every inhabitant had one, and was taught to use one.
Going to and from Yongesia was no easy task. The travel was heavily constricted and regulated by the Samurai, who themselves commanded a wide fleet of airships that sailed the sky rather than the sea, and for reasons I could understand considering their enemy. There was a single route by boat one was allowed to take, and the trip had to be done on a heavily armored freighter that was stocked with guards itself.
Muzan Ward was one of the three economic focal points through which the Yongesian supply chains flowed. Muzan Ward was a sprawling hub of activity. Immortals were constantly coming and going, bringing supplies to the Samurai in their unending campaign against the Afterseas, and bringing themselves as replacements for losses.
Civilian life in Yongesia was one of near-endless service and work to meet demands for the Samurai culture. The people here existed merely to support the war machine and little more. In the distance, from the safety of the Muzan Ward, explosions rang out. The Continent was truly at eternal war facing the tides of the Dark Lord's troops.
I came here because I had heard that a rather special person of interest was present, and I wanted to meet them in person. The one they called the 'Daitengu'. Scheiracht, the Blade of Blades. He was a renowned personal yeoman of the Emperor in the times of the New Beginning, serving as his general. Now he was Lord Sarakha's right hand, and the undisputed master of the Samurai culture. The Great Tengu was said to be undefeated, and being the brilliant general he is, the reason why the hordes of He who Is Us cannot amount the force needed to conquer Yongesia and invade Shengesia beyond the Scourge Fronts.
I was wandering in the midst of a citadel in the Ward, admiring the castle walls and Samurai cultural arts, and the guards surprisingly let me in, taking me for an Immortal come to work. I had no idea where to find Scheiracht, and I was beginning to lose hope I'd even see him, being such a high ranking officer.
When all of a sudden as I wandered the halls, I came face to face with a lot of guards following a figure standing well over eleven feet above me. He was like them, armored in red, wearing a big hat that obscured his metallic fanged beak. He had feet like a crow.
