But your Deed tells you that Durnholde is Alteraci territory, so it means that at one point in history they did lose the land to the Alliance for whatever reason. But currently the lands you are fighting in have been abandoned for who knows how long. How strong the Alliance claim really is?
Completely hypothetically if you were to reveal the Deed and demand the territory to yourself, don't expect them to just agree with it. Alliance does see these lands rightfully as theirs. A more subtle approach is needed.
And no Alterac didn't have island colonies, but they did have a fleet in Darrowmere Lake and a trade fleet that could traverse the river and go out into the sea.
