TalOS felt a small bit of annoyance as he wondered to himself. The situation was indeed a hard one to play thanks to Fulgrim’s nomination. What would happen to the people of these planets once their homes are turned into a factory for the purposes of the greater war. But was he not forgetting something?
“Fulgrim, Vulkan, I understand the two of you do not wish to go back on your vows.” TalOS said as his red eyes glanced to each of their directions, “What we forget is that without these resources that we will become strained. Without these supplies, such as readily accessible adamantine, ceremite, and auric; you will not receive new armors, ships, and Titans to exact the aggressive war that we are fighting with now.”
TalOS leaned towards the table as he wanted to make his point heared, “We, the Mechanicum, need these worlds to follow your war. Without it we will both falter if a great enemy comes onto the galactic stage.”
“You think we can lose this Crusade?” Fulgrim asked with what was a genuine confusion within his voice, “It is our Father who declared it so, Mankind will have the galaxy. Do deny this is to deny our Father!”
“He is right, Fulgrim.” Guilliman barked as he seemed to have a fire within his gullet, “We make war upon the Milky Way. War is always a test of an Empire’s ability to mobilize its resources and strain every drop of blood from its economy.”
“Aye, he’s right!” Shouted Leman as he gave a hearty laugh, “When a Tribe goes to war everyone gives their lifeblood to the effort. We are waging a murdermake, no reason to cry over a few rocks.”
There looked to be an argument to be spilled over but Horus was the quickest to the punch, “Brothers, Brothers. Before we go for each other’s throats let's talk to our brother more. TalOS, I do not believe you would want to work with an Empire that broke its treaties with those it's aligned with.”
“You are correct.” Was what TalOS mentioned, leaving out the part that the Mechanicum knows full well that even centuries old contracts would need to be shattered to save the Red Planet, “What the Mechanicum would accept is permission to pursue a logic found within the tomes of the Federation. The ideas of purchasing and reallocating land.”
