>>5383787>“The docks sound nice. I always feel so stifled when I come to the city. I could do with a bit of a fresh sea breeze. And besides, the sun is still out. There’s plenty of people going about their business in public. If someone were to try and make a move on us, I doubt they’d do so in this setting.” “As you wish, Commander.” Sebastian relents.
“The docks?” Theo groans. “Fishing is so boring, though. I wanted to do something fun. Maybe grab a few pints of ale and get into a brawl with some rowdy drunks?”
>“You sure know how to show a lady a good time. But don’t go complaining now, doing something was your idea. Besides, I’m sure your body could use a bit of a respite from the alcohol. Now, come along, or I’ll leave you behind.”The Berserker grumbles, before falling in line and accompanying you to Derdriu’s busy port area. The city is well-known for being one of Fodlan’s most profitable commercial trade harbors. Ships from all corners of the continent, and even some from abroad, line the docks, their wares being unloaded and readied for sale. Eventually, you find a nice bench, overseeing a busy section of the dock, where the three of you take a rest.
>“Do you like the water?” You ask Sebastian. “Well…I never quite learned how to swim.” He responds.
Theo laughs. “Of course not! With all that armor you’d sink to the bottom like a stone.”
“You’re one to talk. Perhaps you could benefit from a good dunking into the river. It would certainly improve your hygiene.”
“There you go, starting fights again! Tell him off for me, Blair.” Theo prods you.
>“I actually don’t mind. The both of you remind me of two good friends I used to have. They’d bicker nonstop with each other, but in reality, they were extremely close, and always had the other’s back. The two of you make a show of being enemies, but I think you appreciate each other’s company more so than you’d like to admit.”Theo gags. “As if I’d ever be friends with a pompous blowhard of a knight like this guy. Sorry, Blair, but your instincts are way off.”
“Apologies, Commander. This is a rare moment where I must disagree with you…” Sebastian says.
>“Sure, whatever.” You sit there, ignoring the two as they continue to lightly trade jabs with each other. Even their incessant bickering is not enough to ruin your moment of respite. You sit there for what feels like an hour, enjoying the calming sea breeze and beautiful weather. You think about how nice it is to have some time to yourself where you aren’t thinking of the war, lost friends, or shapeshifting freaks. You’ll need to do it more often.>+1 MAG during next battle
