<span class="mu-s">"If you're not hungering for prestige, why are you even running with them?"</span>
"It gives me a place to be. I met Gizamon before I even got my Digivice. Most of the others didn't have their partners until they went looking. Thanks to it, we can at least take care of each other properly."
That makes a lot more sense than you gave him credit for. It also explains why he seemed so incompetent compared to someone like Liza. You're not sure how long you'd have stuck with Phascomon if you had to hide him from bots and sneak around everywhere without a Digivice.
"Have you kept in touch with her?"
"Too busy to. I've been wondering if she was alright, but..."
<span class="mu-s">"Lemme guess. Wind would be mad."</span>
He nods. The mood turns cold after that, leaving the four of you to sit and twiddle your thumbs while waiting for Pulsemon to get back. After a little while more, you decide to stand and examine the room, still cautiously avoiding the entrance.
When no patients are assigned to the beds, they lack any specialized equipment. There's just a panel where patient info is supposed to go, and a console with countless buttons that can be toggled remotely. While you're skulking around in this version of the Hospital, you can access the buttons directly. You see wires extending out from the panel and running across the ceiling, likely leading back to the control room.
"You ever been wounded?" You ask Ryan.
"Nope."
"Only a matter of time if you're going to be a Dog of War forever."
"Maybe Cutemon will-"
<span class="mu-s">"Stop."</span>
<span class="mu-s"><span class="mu-b">"What? He didn't even say anything yet."</span></span> Gizamon huffs.
<span class="mu-s">"No, I know where this is going. He sounds like a useful Digimon to get on your side. I don't suppose Wind is gonna let him go, if you're saying that he's been cracking the whip recently."</span>
You hadn't considered that before. You frown as you listen out for the sound of Commandramon footsteps.
"We'll bring him there to help Bella, then see him back to the Hospital. That's all we should be doing."
<span class="mu-s">"Yeah, yeah..."</span>
This is a sore point for Phascomon, and you don't want to linger on it too long, so you go quiet again. You can't fully control what the Dogs of War do in the future. All you can do is act in a manner you can live with.
