The devastation was monstrous as they crawled their way up the streets. The Transhuman and the Knights all spent enough time slaughtering those on the ground that the Mitu were able to start organizing localized resistance. It helped those who were not the main target, but with the knowledge gleaned through consumption Vadar knew exactly what he needed to take out.
Slowly but surely his squad of warriors grew larger and larger. With every street that Vadar crossed, Knights who were patrolling them would come along realizing that the Proelites had found themselves the quarry of the day. It was simple knowledge that while they could rack up the kills patrolling these streets that it was a waste of resources.
That was why when they finally came to the Sanctum of the Mitu that behind Vadar was a horde of armor and elites all waiting for their target. In the next second the guns of the Knights roared, tearing down the Mitu who thought themselves smart for creating a forward operating post to fight off the invaders.
+DEUS MECHANICUS!+ Roared Vadar as he lifted his Chainsword to become the spearhead of the assault. The Xenos that thought themselves lucky to survive the attack were quickly killed by a stampede of hundreds of Astartes storming a position.
None would deny the blood bath that occurred then. None could survive such a concentration of Astartes no matter if they are Xenos or God. Thus the Astartes had quickly dug through the defenders that had littered themselves through the halls before blowing off the doors off one of the largest doors they had yet seen on this planet.
For a moment the Astartes and Acillians saw the Xenos who were sustaining the Shield for both the city and the planet. The Psykers could not hide the massive amounts of fear that ached through the room when they realized their time was up.
Without a word Vadar charged forward which was quickly followed up by the hundreds of Astartes that had taken his lead. An entire company of soldiers tearing through the blood of the psyker.
Maybe if the Psykers were more brave they could have taken so many troops with them. But even during their moments of death they did not dare open a rift into the other realm that would have sprouted damnation upon all of their souls.
After twelve minutes the slaughter ceased, the shields that were protecting the city disappearing as if they were never there.
