>>5764409You walk with the trooper to a wall inside the vault, waving to Beck and Goto to follow you. You’re at the far end when the trooper stops in front of a blank wall, and gently pushes on it. Sure enough, shadows outlining a small doorway appear, and the wall slides in, then to the side. In front is another door, secure it seems. The trooper quickly applies a pliable material to the frame, and motions for you all to step back and turn around. You do so, and a moment later you hear a sharp hissing noise and light shining from behind you. And then, a thud. Turning around, you see a small room at the other end, dark, and much smaller than the vault you’re standing in.
Stepping through the doorway, your eyes take a moment to adjust to the dim light before the trooper who discovered it flips a switch. You’re in some kind of workshop, tools and machines scattered about the place. And, in the centre of the room, standing tall and motionless, is a super-tactical droid.
The generals of the droid armies when there’s no flesh and blood entity to lead them, cold and calculating, they’re utterly lethal. There’s a standing order across the entire GAR to recover them, intact if possible, but to this day not one has been recovered undamaged. They have a tendency to self-destruct when close to capture. It’s said even Jedi have trouble beating them. And here’s one standing in front of you, deactivated and completely harmless.
What is it doing here? Why is it in a hidden part of the vault? What use would a Neimoidian have for one of these? You’ve never come across something like this in your entire career. Still, this thing’s of almost inestimable worth to the GAR. The separatist secrets that it might hold within it…
What are you going to do?
>Reactivate it. You want to question it, and there’s no better place to do it than here. >Take it with you. You’re not out of the woods yet, you want to get away from any clanker reinforcements before you mess with this thing.>Try and hack into it. Your engineers are trained for it, and the data it contains is going to be a motherload of information.>Look around the room for some clue to its purpose. This obviously isn’t a normal droid. But what could it be for?
