>>5452545The kobolds get some broken chairs for the three of you and blindfold you, then small groups of the tiny things carry you around.
But instead of taking you to any meaningful place, they just separate the three of you and place you all in separate jailcells with metal bars.
You take off your blindfold and look around.
"Hey, anyone in here?"
"Yeah, I can hear you pal.", you hear a strong voice.
"This voice... do you have a daughter called Dreyda?"
"Dreyda? Do you know her?"
"Yes, we came here looking for you."
"Yes, I remember her. I remember her mother. But we're stuck here. You will have better luck eating the rats than whatever gruel these kobolds give you."
"Let's escape from here!"
"I tried bending these bars, but it is no use. They were made to hold something stronger than me."
"How did you end up here anyway?"
"I was in an adventuring group. I entered in a rage and fought a dragon while they fled. They must have thought me dead. But I killed that dragon good. You know the kobolds belief this thing to be their deity, right? Feels good killing someone else's god."
"Then we just stand here and rot?"
"Well... I have been digging a tunnel out but it ended up into an empty cell across the hall."
"Check it, I came here with two girls, it may be their cell."
"I'll check it pal."
Withing a few minutes, Jak shows up and unlocks your jail cell. The old barbarian looks starved and sick.
"Let's go get Dreyda."
Jak opens yet another jail door and then finds Dreyda in another corridor.
"Hey, hey, don't leave me here! Save me!", you hear a voice.
A starved looking bearded man look at you with hope.
"And who the hell are you?", asks Dreyda, as Jak liberates her.
"I'm Doug. I came here to steal from the kobolds, but they caught me and left me here to rot. It's been years..."
"He's lying.", says an ogre across the room in another cell. "This guy is a shapeshifter and if you let him loose he will get everyone killed. Set me free and I will lead you out."
"It's bullshit. If I were a shapeshifter wouldn't I be able to go through the bars? Thinking about it... you are probably the shapeshifter."
"That's what a shapeshifter would say."
"Well, how come you're so healthy in here?"
"I've lived in worse places."
