You had expected all of them to back their sister Exalted Heron, but from how your comrades speak they seem to do so to a lesser extent than you had anticipated. Lioness, attache to the Cantonian Cohort, doesn’t appear to exert much in the way of pressure for the Dragon Guard under her remit to actively frustrate Merchanta interests. Conversely, She-Bear of the Norsikaan Cohort is the preferred crude instrument of Heron where excessive force is required. The rest of the attaches seem to fall somewhere inbetween, but they are not the only Medusae members active in this game. There are the Medusae whose remit encompasses the various vassal cities, or those whose roles is altogether more elusive. For example, you’ve yet to identify their spymaster. For a court like this, with as many daggers as their are false smiles, you cannot imagine the Medusae do not have some sort of equivalent for the role.
While Sir Gilbern was aware of the growing rivalry between the Medusae and Merchanta, the source and motivations of those behind the escalation had yet to be confirmed by the Ordo Reginate network. The Second Herald may have been somewhat understating the importance of a source within the Dragon Guard, already you find yourself more abreast of the inner politics of the Crescent Palace on a general level than their agents have been able to glean for years.

During your service in the Dragon Guard…
>You will keep your head down as a passive observer. You are a soldier in the Dragon Guard, that is your primary duty. Any pertinent information that comes to you during this role will only come by chance, or rather grace, not because you sought it out. [Divine]
>You will do nothing unusual outside of your regular duties. But you may volunteer to cover shifts or purposefully find yourself assigned to roles, such as guarding palace officials or foreign delegations, where useful information is more likely to drop into your lap. [Hearty]
>You cannot sit idly by while the cogs that form the inner workings of the Cathagi Empire continue to click on an unknown course. If the information is crucial or vital enough to the interests and security of Canton, you will go out of your way to obtain it. [Idealist]
