>>5269732You shrug. The evidence was there, so there was little use in trying to lie. “We just felt like we couldn’t just sit around an’ wait to be saved. We’re meant ta be shinigami in a few years, so… We did what we could.”
“Right, right.” He nodded, hand cupping his chin, as he looked you, Tsukuya and Shin up and down. “If Yoruichi had seen your shunpo and your hakuda, she’d have snapped you up in a heartbeat,” The man muses, regarding you and Tsukuya respectively. “It’s a shame you’re already called for… Oops! Was I meant to say that?”
“You know you weren’t, Kisuke.” You hear, and you turn around to see a short woman with dark skin and purple hair behind you. You hadn’t seen, felt or heard her approach… and from that alone, you knew that even though she wasn’t wearing a haori, this was none other than Shunshin no Yoruichi, the Captain of 2nd Division. That also meant this man here was likely her Lieutenant, although… he lacked a badge, so perhaps that wasn’t the case.
“Oh, Captain! There I go, running my mouth again. I apologise, I-“
“Shut it.” Yoruichi mutters, kicking the man - Kisuke - in the face to shut him up, while she looks over at the three of you, Tsunayashiro and the others seemingly beneath her notice. “Hmm… He has a point, though. You move well, all three of you. Maybe I should’ve come to see you… Even Shinji stopped whining after he actually met you in person.”
She crosses her arms, smiling at you. “Well regardless, you did well. If you hadn’t arrived when you did, those four and maybe others could’ve been hurt, maybe even killed. Following orders is important, but so is having the initiative to act when you can make a difference.”
At that, Tsunayashiro begins to splutter from where he was sat on the ground, having almost wet himself at the sight of a charging hollow. “B-But I was the one-“
“I know.” Yoruichi says, before continuing. “But you couldn’t make a difference, and all you ended up being was a liability who, had the situation been worse, would’ve have been a casualty. If you want to be a hero, either grow strong enough to be an effective one, or die so those that are can do their jobs without you getting in the way.”
Yoruichi turns away, looking into the distance. “I’m going to the next sector. Kisuke, take the kids back, and then send a squad to watch the Academy perimeter. Not all the students can defend themselves like this lot.”
“Of course, Captain!” He shouts, seemingly serious, despite the bright red mark on his face from where she had kicked him earlier.
You…
>Ask to go along with Yoruichi and help>Listen, and let Kisuke take you back>Insist that you have everything under control, and that Kisuke should go with the Captain to help other areas
