How you longed for the ability to walk upon this earth once more, to trot upon the corpses of your downfallen foes and to destroy with your own hands their crafts and creations.
And so you poured the forthcoming power into a vessel worthy of your essence, a being of unnatural darkness. Capable of handling your soul with the utmost precision and control, this vessel would serve as your provisional body for the time being, a tool with which you work and research for the time being.
It isn't like you had much choice in terms of worthy stock, Samarda; Nafiri and the other mortal would have died, as your corruptive nature would have destroyed their organic over the course of the year. There was, of course, the demons, but you would prefer the body of something less fickle in nature.
It would be like a shell of a hermit crab; you would dispose of it when you have found a more worthy body, or perhaps when you have made one.
As you began to take shape once more, you felt that you were unable to take on one more definitive feature; you were a silhouette, with no facial features or distinguishing characteristics, save for the two burning eyes you could turn on and off as you desired.
A mass of writhing shadows you were no longer; like water poured into a glass, your formless state would be contained within this container. It wouldn't be the most powerful body, nor the toughest, but it could perform its duty quite well.
The warband knelt in your presence as before, all taking off their helms and hats to bask in your glory in full. Even as a silhouette, you were taller than all before you, your limbs stretched out, long and spindly. Your fingers were long, pointy and narrow, though they had no nails to speak of.
''Arise, and enrobe me.'' Was your first command.
Nafiri stepped over with a black hooded robe, long and minimalistic. The fabric was simple but fine; there were no decorations, but it fit like a glove. Nafiri and Samarda diligently enrobed you for all to see, though they couldn't get the hood over your head, which you did yourself.
Now, for a first test. You said as you conjured up a purple flame in the palm of your hand. The flame danced and flickered, casting an eerie glow over the shrine.
Because your touch was deadly to most, you donned steel gloves as well, though you would remove them in times of combat.
Now, with a body of your own once more in your hands, you have accomplished the first step to reclaim that which is yours. Like a pastor, you led the procession out of the shrine; though it had been frustratingto get working, it had given you something long denied.
Now then, O great lord, what shall be thy bidding?
>We shall go into that town south, to that town.
>I have had enough of these demons; we shall head for the border.
>We shall go westward, to the portal, arena and tower.
