Inside, I saw what was exactly a small apartment space. There were posters for these Yongesian animes everywhere on the walls. A futon in the corner, a kotatsu in the middle, book shelf there loaded with all sorts of things. I saw shelf after shelf after shelf on the walls stacked with all her paraphernalia. Figurines of cute girls in frilly dresses, or skimpy colorful outfits with colorful eyes and colorful hair. There was a giant replica sword from some show leaning against it. She had a giant TV, courtesy of Hale's pockets, mounted on the wall, and numerous gaming systems and consoles. And her most prized possession near to that, a big computer with two monitors on a black plastic and metal desk. She had some kind of weird shaped green office chair in front of it, with extra padding for the neck of it. On the table, I saw empty soda bottles, crushed cans, her hacking flip phone, a tablet with a stylus, empty takeout boxes and some kind of biscuit stick covered in chocolate affection.
This was Catastrovania's personal abode...
[CATASTROVANIA] "Eh?!" I heard her go, as she reached for her katana, until she noticed me and eased off; "Oh. It's just you. The normal... Tch, you're lucky I have the lights turned on. If I didn't recognize you, you'd be in ribbons on the floor by now as all intruders would."
'Your door is wide open.'
[CATASTROVANIA] "And that makes you feel safe, nya?"
I refrained from pointing out the butter knife dullness of her blade.
[WOLFBOY] "Hi aunt Muna!"
'Oh? Wolfboy'
I just noticed him standing behind Catastrovania's...
[MAJORDOMO] "It's a gamer chair."
Yeah, that.
I came over and looked to see what they were doing. Catastrovania was wearing a different shirt today. She was... introducing Wolfboy to her "animes". She was making him standing up an watch it from over her shoulder on one of the computer screens.
'Having fun, I presume?'
[WOLFBOY] "Oh yeah! Cata's been showing me all sorts of new things! She showed me what a "fighting game" is, and then she kicked my butt in it!"
[CATASTROVANIA] "Nyah, I'm just educating a normal like him so he isn't so tech illiterate. It's an act of mercy."
[JOCO] "Seems to me like she wants somebody she knows she can beat in those vidya gaems so she can gloat."
I wouldn't put it past her.
'Mm. So this is... anime then?'
[CATASTROVANIA] "Nyoh ho ho, of course it is. It's culture of its own. You'd have to experience it to truly understand!"
This anime she was playing was just some kind of show about a knight wearing an apron and wielding a big knife. He keeps giving people rabbits and talking about his quest for meat. And then he pets Kobolds and it's back to talking about meat over and over and over again.
