I looked up the concept art sadly in the 2022 film the final design is not as good as this original concept (that hypercube cage is so cool!) in the films it actually does not transform into as many stellated polyhedron geometric shapes with cutting knife blades.
Barker as an author I think has a thing for worlds trapped in objects eg Weaveworld is about the magic Fugue woven into a rug carpet, I quite like this theme. I should probably get round to reading his actual novels at some point because I guess just reading all the journal entries in Clive Barker's Undying the videogame does not count.
