>>5949439Luckily, your intervention and quick introduction puts everyone at ease… Relatively-speaking. By the time Izzy has joined you, most of your group has crowded around the opposite side of the room, while the Thief is inspecting the Prince.
“That,” Costella says in hushed voice, “is NOT a butterfly OR a moth. I thought he was, like… A lepidepeterian or whatever?”
“Lepidopteran,” you and Izzy automatically correct her, and then you frown and add: “I’m actually not sure WHAT sort of creature his mother is…”
“He’s definitely not as handsome as his DAD,” Costella pouts.
You give her a look.
“I-I’m just saying!”
“That’s an illusion, Costella,” Izzy reminds him.
“You mean that, like, Prince Long Wang looks like… THAT?!”
Before you can speculate upon the true visage of the Dragon King of Bloodrise—alias Long Wang, Prince Consort of Hawksong—the Thief turns his own outrage upon you, gesturing to the <Belt of Binding>.
“You have collared the Princcce of Bloodrise, like an animal,” he hisses. “Exxxplain this.”
“It was a necessary deception,” you say soothingly. “Here, let me remove it. Duul'ssom!”
You speak the trigger-phrase, and the belt slackens and, with some quick, is removed and returned to your pack.
“Very well,” the Thief says, the hissing lisp of his lizardman accent abating. “Apologies, Mage Apprentice.”
Through, speaking of secrets and lies…
