After today's excursions, you have amassed a squad of a dozen Pikmin- with six being flowers, and six being leaves or buds. While the immediate area seems secured- you notice a large white wall built from dead plant material. It blocks progress deeper into this area. Approaching it, you realize you'll need the pikmin to slowly break this wall down if you want to go any further in this area- a task that could take several hours or even days to complete depending on how large and strong the wall is. You also learn that you could leave the pikmin to accomplish a task while you go off to do something else- a form of multitasking. However, you don't have time for this first day.
But looking through the small gaps in the wall you happen to see... oh boy. Creatures. Bigger then you by a full two heads and many times your mass- these things look dangerous. While your spacesuit is well insulted against danger and triple layered for redundant protection- enough bites from teeth that big could eventually ear through it and let that poison atmosphere inside. You don't think a spear or sharp rocks would help much at all here- you'll need the Pikmin to protect you.
For the last few hours of dusk- you order your pikmin to dig your ship out of the soil and put it upright. Its hard work but soon enough it is done. Your ship, while badly damaged and missing its core components for deep-space flight, can still fly into the upper atmosphere of this planet. This is a good thing- as many of the parts you need are scattered many miles away.
Finally, the sun begins to set over the planet. You aren't' exactly sure how you know- but you have an odd feeling that the largest and most dangerous beasts on this planet are nocturnal. You'll need to seek shelter in your spaceship for the night for a safe place to sleep- no way you're sleeping under the stars here. You only hope the pikmin will be okay...
Wait. When the sun begins to set, the pikmin begin to climb back inside the onion! That must be its purpose as a shelter- a safe place to rest. You enter your own spaceship and fly up into orbit- and to your amazement the onion follows you! It's loyalty surprises you still. But this also means that it will follow you to any new locations you need to recover your missing ship parts!
That night, you sleep inside your ship with the heating elements as low as you can make them, scavenging what little food remains onboard- a water flavored nutrient bar, a few stale pieces of candy, and a Piktamin U supplement. You are in survival mode now- and that means conserving all of your resources and energy. From now on, you'll need to find food on the planet as well as build back up your ship parts. You know you can do this... You hope.
