“You…” Lucian could not believe the words he heard from the beast, “You are one of the greatest fools I have ever heard. You languish here on this rock waiting for the End Times when your strength would be useless!”
“Perhaps, but you lack the sight of eternity.” The Dragon said as he began moving his wings. Like a storm the torrents of air slammed themselves into the unmoving Knight.
Without another word the Dragon took to the skies above Lucian’s head. The Knight could only think that the Dragon was simply fleeing a verbal debate that it knew it would lose. A fool in all measures and a craven to boot.
So the Grail Knight began moving away from the plateau. His feet gliding down the imperceptible slope that was imbedded in the rocks. Simple actions a Peasant would have called Witchcraft except it was done by a Grail Knight.
If it was someone chosen by the Lady of the Lake, than anything they did was expected of them. They were not witches or warlocks in disguise but divine warriors whose sole purpose was to drive the Lance of the Lady into the hearts of all who opposed her.
As he climbed down, Lucian could not help but feel the air was slightly heavy. The he noticed flying through the air was a flock of crows going into a direction towards another part of the mountain.
Perhaps it was curiosity, but the Knight followed them. He had the swiftness of foot to travel with the birds, following them to where they landed. To where the Murder was gathering.
