>Admin, interview Star. Talk about getting a show for the androids and what she truly wants.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnuvNk2U3bo "You." The magician teleports right up to your face. You nearly fall flat on your ass but you just barely manage to keep standing up.
She snorts. "Tu es un tel mélange de beauté et d'horreur."
"Right?" This only gets her to laugh even harder. You shake your head and adjust your posture. "Look, I'm here for a quick talk."
"Le dernier combat m'a tellement épuisé." She shakes her head. "Please tell me it's something else."
"No, it's not about a fight. I mostly just want to ask a favor for you. Our androids have been kinda...been in a sour mood."
The magician gently floats back, seemingly done with messing with you. "Ah. That was all this private rendezvous was about? You already know the answer."
"Right. Speaking about showtimes, though...what do you actually want?"
"Hm? Quoi?"
"Look. You're one of the more aware ones, you must know what I mean. This whole 'showtime' and performance stuff, how far are you willing to go?"
"Would you be willing to die for your masterpiece? Or would you rather live at the cost of your ambition?"
The magician doesn't respond for a moment. She gently bops up and down before floating to the ground, manifesting the Late Night Cane in hand.
"Hey, what did I tell you about stealing shit?"
"I'm borrowing it. It's hard to make new canes." Her tone has shifted to something more somber. Her feet touch the ground. "It's funny you ask that, though."
"I'm not sure! Otherwise, I guess I wouldn't be here, eh?" Star puts on her best laugh but you just shake your head.
"I'll be honest, I'm not sure what will happen to you when you do your masterpiece. But I've seen the patterns and most, well..." You let the silence speak for itself.
The magician looks up at the ceiling, spinning the cane without thought. "And go back to a boring grey life back where I came from? When I was nobody?"
"There's a reason why I came to this world. Without a performance, I'm...it's like telling Fortune to not tell fortunes. I am what I am."
"I'm not a human. You are. You wouldn't understand." The magician falls silent.
Even if you are the director of your many actors.
"I don't know. I want to live, I truly do. I don't know what happens if I decide living is more important."
[DYING LIGHT] She's scared, scared at the possibility of death. Yet she's willing to embrace it.
"Well, I can't answer that question. I can only help guide you to your proper dec-" You feel something wrap around you. She's...hugging you?
It only lasts for a second before she's back to the center of her room. "Hehe. Seems like my acting skills are great! Don't worry about any of that."
[DYING LIGHT] She's trying her best to not look at you when she says it.
"...Of course." You play along, for her sake. "Take it easy. I'll pen the show after the shift." You bow before exiting.
