QM, what is the state of the Empire's horse gene pool? Tiny weak classical and medieval era horses are no match for the huge beasts we have today on the racetrack thanks to centuries of selective breeding. If we don't have fast horses compared to other nations we can set up (or encourage if there is one already) a horse racing and betting culture to encourage breeders to develop faster horses that we can buy for our cavalry and postal service. Nothing beats letting the private sector do all the hard work kek. Pic related
