[SAMURAI] "KEEP YOUR GROUND!"
I stopped. What bothersome instructions from them.
So these were Samurai... I'd never seen them this close in person before.
They were... strange, to say the least. Their bodies were armored in thick red plates, and their faces were hard to discern. It was as if their eyes were not natural, but built into their skulls, flickering red like sensors. Their weapons were hi-tech. The Samurai were a warrior caste that prided themselves on their superiority. Their guns, though deceivingly rustic in appearance, were energy casters that fired bullets of light. Their blades vibrated on a frequency that could make molecules fall apart, atom by atom, allowing them cut through almost anything, requiring special sheathes that could stabilize the blade and render it harmless.
These were lower ranked Samurai. Ashigaru, as they were known, being lead by a higher ranked Retainer carrying a large shield.
[SAMURAI] "THIS IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS, TRAVELER. BE ON YOUR WAY."
...They were going out of their way to intimidate a man who was maybe an inch or two shorter than I was. He stood there, nonchalantly, holding a smoking pipe, but still sweating in anticipation as the Ashigaru readied their matchlocks and aimed at him.
'...What did he do?'
I asked them on impulse.
[MAN] "Heh, not even I know that."
[SAMURAI] "SILENCE!"
[SAMURAI] "YOU ARE INTERFERING WITH TRINITY CONDUCT. YOU ARE ORDERED TO LEAVE NOW OR BE IN VIOLATION OF DISOBEYING A LAWKEEPER."
'Because if I see you execute this man, I'll have seen something I shouldn't have. And then you'll have to kill me as well, isn't it?'
[MAN] "More or less."
[SAMURAI] "YOU HAVE ONE LAST CHANCE. LEAVE NOW, OR DIE."
They're being difficult.
I stand some twenty feet away from the carriage. The three bodies litter the ground near the man's feet... The Ashigaru were just about to pull their triggers. I could fight, and save him the hard way, but then I'd need to kill these Samurai. But I need to train my Psychic powers and abilities as well. Perhaps I could try messing with their minds, somehow...
>What should I do here? This man doesn't need to die.
