“I’m gonna be real with you Jesse. This is the best I can do.” You’re not exactly proud of your little doodle, but it’s not like you hate it.
“It’s a cute depiction.” Pascaline is too nice to dislike your drawing in any way.
“The notes.” Jesse points at them.
“Yes? What about ‘em?” You look at the picture looking for a misspelling.
“Explain them.” Jesse is still unamused.
“…They’re in there to help everyone identify you faster!” You think these can be kind of insulting on their own. “You’re a fast reader, huh?”
“It clearly worked!” Pascaline smiles from ear to ear. “I know what can turn that frown upside down! Some delicious cheese!”
“Cheese?” Jesse realizes where he’s standing in front of.
“Don’t tell me you’re lactose intolerant…” You feel bad for his soul.
“I’m not going to.” Jesse retorts.
“Are you?” Pascaline asks. You sternly look at Jesse to show him he can act all dry and annoyed with you, but that stops with this sweet woman.
“I’m not. But there’s no need for you to share your goods with us.” Jesse politely refuses the miracle gift from a goddess.
“I don’t mind, with all Phil has done for us – I’d be overjoyed to share my dairy products with you two!” Pascaline ignores him. “Now, if you really feel inclined to return the favor, you can always return later as a paying customer. Take them as free samples.”
“The people of Xumenlo are really friendly!” You nod with enthusiasm.
“We’re busy, madam. Maybe some other time.” Jesse tries to politely get out of trouble.
