It's an incontrovertible fact.
They left you behind!
In the stories about magical girls you watched as a child, there wasn't a single anime or manga where the protagonists accidentally left an innocent behind because they didn't bother to double check to see if they got everyone. Now you're stuck... somewhere in Japan? A pocket dimension? WHERE!?
They left you behind!
Your state of being stunned morphs into a nameless emotional hurt. Tears rim your eyes but you hold them back. Only one person on the train paid attention to your absence! Not the teacher, not even your friends. It was your rival, the all-around jerk Kyouya, who called out in a vain attempt to stop those Magical Girls from just leaving without you.
THEY LEFT YOU BEHIND!
The tears you tried to hold back now start streaming down your face as a small sob escapes your lips. The memory of the last few minutes is crushing. You could have died! Just like that poor conductor who got attacked by the bugs! Just how will his family react upon learning he died? Hell, what about your parents?! Your family is going to go insane when they learn you are not on the train with the rest of your schoolmates.
You are alone in this strange valley of granite. Where do you even go from here?!
Wait!? If those stupid bitches left you here, did they also leave the conductor's corpse here too!?
That jolts you with horror, and the tears renew themselves. You wipe the tears off your face and get up to check where you last saw the conductor. At the very least, you need to confirm your suspicions. Darkness must come early to this place since the sun sinks behind the high cliffs. The chill of night is upon you, and the hot tears stream down more slowly now.
You arrive where the front of the train once lay. It's strange to see the deep impressions in the asphalt where the train's wheel rested, and even stranger to see the scattered abandoned backpacks of some of your schoolmates littering the ground still.
There's no corpse. There's not even any blood on the ground. All that's left of the conductor is his hat, which must have fallen off his head during the attack. You checked all over, even over the handrails and to the river. Nothing is there too.
Does that mean... They grabbed the conductor's body but didn't bother to wait around for a few seconds longer when Kyouya and you were screaming at them. You're relieved, though. Being alone is scary, but being alone with a dead body is even worse.
You still don't feel great, but you do feel a bit better. A good cry has gotten some of the stress and frustration out. Now you have to act; sitting around here isn't going to do much good for you...
>Check the cellphone, maybe you can call home...
>Check out the fallen backpacks, maybe there's something in them you can use...
>Explore the surrounding area a bit...
>Call out and see if someone answers back...
>Wash your face, the river is close by...
