>>5312420“I have studied the dragon MOST of all, PER your instructions oh Champion. I cannot make one such as you—or myself, for that matter—into a true dragon. But…”
“…But?” you ask, hating yourself for falling for this self-proclaimed prodigy’s game of self-aggrandizing call-and-response, but unable to bear the suspense.
“BUT,” she says, crossing her arms and forcing her tail not to lash with glee, “I think I can IMBUSE you with something of their essence, to make your ‘Dargonshape’ more permanent… More controlled!”
You imagine it: no more pinkish-brown tinge to your scales, no more hair in unusual places. A dragon, armoured, proud, tall and mighty, your Fearsome Presence a herald to your approach wherever you go!
“I might even be able to grow you some wings,” she whispers.
Your heart hammers. You’ve always dreamed of flying.
“The Dragonborn is going to moult! Metamorphose! Become brood-queen!”
You look at Glowie, hands clasped and body wiggling rhythmically in delight, and she corrects herself:
“King. Queen-equivalent. Sorry!” she smiles. “One king, one queen.”
You cough, turning away and trying to ignore the desirous bug-woman’s implication.
“What’s the catch?” you ask.
The Novice frowns and looks away.
“There are… Potential complications. And each attempt at this uses up some draconic material.”
“And the others of our race would regard it as sacrilege,” you note.
“Hypocrites!” she cries. “Father, the Chaplain… He authorized such experiments with the Great Green Dragon\s remains!”
“By full-fledges Fleshweavers,” you note. “NOT by a renegade Novice.”
“A fresh perspective is NEEDED,” she asserts… But then, she demures.
“Maybe… It should be tested on another first, though. It would be a shame to accidentally deform or destroy such a… UNIQUE specimen as yourself, False Dragonborn.”
Glowie stops swaying, and looks thoughtful, then raises her hand—volunteering.
“I was thinking a kobold,” the Novice shrugs. “Or The Bastard. He is… Like you, but lesser.”
What do you do?
>Authorize the Novice to begin testing her theories [specify on who: yourself, kobolds, the Bastard, Glowie?]>Deny the Novice—tell her to stick to her other avenues of amulet-improvement instead>You need to sleep on this—even pray on this—before you make a decision [divine consultation]>These eggs and their potential are a threat to you—smash them>Write-in
