It was two point six seconds, that was how long TalOS saw the look upon the demigod’s face. It was the kind of terror that TalOS had seen on others, people who were faced to face with the more liberal Tech Priests of the Cult Mechanicus. A terror of seeing the body of a man ‘violated’ by the intruding wires and cables that made us the augmentations the Priesthood so valued.
The Primarch wondered about his brother, why he looked like that. TalOS had always had augmentations, some during the time he interacted with Horus contrary to his current form presented to Leman Russ and Ferrus Manus. None of his brothers seemed to hold such a reaction until this very moment.
The festivities did not stop as the Third continued onwards. With every step talOS could see the perfection that was written in every piece and fiber of the being before him. It only made TalOS wonder if he was built to be this perfect, or that he made himself this perfect?
Thinking about his other brothers more and more, it was likely that Fulgrim himself was the one who aimed to be perfect.
Upon the Primarch’s first step on the stairs towards TalOS the host spoke, “I, Fabricator General TalOS DAV1S hereby extend my hand in welcome. People of Lucius, assist me as we welcome my Brother Primarch of the Third Legion, Fulgrim, to Lucius!”
Upon those words the crowds all around them began to cry out. All at once the soldiers and warmachines gave volleys of salute to the one who finally reached the precipice of the staircase.
In the old Terran manner TalOS extended his hand to his brother, only for Fulgrim to take a second to judge whether he truly wanted to shake it. In the end the Third reached over and gripped it tight, the two shaking before raising it to the crowd to see.
Everyone cheered, including the Emperor’s Children who stood as bodyguards to their Primarch. In that time TalOS thought it strange he had so few of them, but ignored it as he gave a hand in instruction to lead Fulgrim into the building.
Without a word the other Primarch did as was suggested to him. The two of them soon walked through the massive metal doors meant for Titans to walk through. A second later the doors closed, causing a loud metal cling to carry across the city as the two were now secluded from the rest of the Forgespire.
