“Yeah!” Kayle asks him, the two clearly upset.
“A warrior, your grandfather was.” the late Guardian says with a sigh. “Tradition, it was, among the old Saiyans. Death in battle: the highest honor, it was, long before Cold's influence on your people. Befitting of a warrior, such a death was. Not to grow old, and die weak in bed. With his honor, your grandfather passed. Smiling upon him, from the afterlife, his friends will be.”
“But why did he have to leave us?” Caulifla asks, sounding a bit hoarse. “I could have saved him.”
“Prolonged his life, perhaps.” the former Guardian replies, as gentle as ever. “But save him? No. Inevitable, death is. For us all, one day, it comes.”
“Oh!” you say, suddenly remembering your duty and opening your tome. Flipping through the ancient book you flip to the back, the pages of the dead, and find a clear page. Then, as a sign of respect you create a small crystal to prick your finger, and begin writing in your own blood.
“What are you writing?” Megumin asks, and you say it as you write.
“Tatsu, father of Karn, beloved father and grandfather, died this day in glorious battle against impossible odds to protect his family.” you say, then instead of sprinkling ash over the page, you use your own crystal magic, sealing the blood to the page before tearing the page right out. Folding it carefully into three, you then point to the ground with the missive and focus your mana. “Death Magic: Envoy!”
And at your feet, a skeleton little larger than your young sister Okira appears, crawling up out of the sand. You hand it the letter, the skeleton clutching it to its chest as it begins to seemingly sink back into the sand.
“What did you do?” Chaya asks, sounding both worried and accusatory. “What was that?!”
“I just sent this to the afterlife.” you tell her, closing the tome and turning to face your sister. “Hopefully it will help him out.”
“Broly?” you hear your dad ask, all of you turning to see him looking to Broly and Caulifla with worry in his eyes. “What the hell happened? What did I miss?”
“Huh?” Caulifla asks, pulling back then freezing in shock as she sees how badly burned her older brother is. “Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry, Triumph!”
“It's okay, I know what it's like to lose control.” he tells her, smiling as his burned flesh begins restoring itself over the next few seconds. “I know you didn't mean it Cauli.”
