We won't stop you as long as you don't stop us.">Attempt to take him on now, next time you will be at a disadvantage.“We will not turn back.” You announce, a hand on your rifle. “..You may finish your meal.”
“That’s quite alright.” The wolfman shakes his head as he stands. “It’ll still be warm when I’m done.”
You suppose pride runs in the family.
You almost take an involuntary step back as the half-beast rises to his full height–even with shoulders half-hunched and back sloped, he’s a veritable mountain of fur and fangs that towers above even yourself. He reaches into his cloak and produces a handful of crosses–four cross point ends stick out from his knuckles like claws.
“You’re responsible for the crosses, then..? What are..” The dhampir begins, but a flash of recognition crosses her features, her eyes widening before narrowing in disgust. “..That’s a loathsome trick, Morne. You’d rob men of even that slight mercy here?”
“What are they?” The doll asks, trepidation creeping into her tone.
“A relic from centuries past. They’re CRUCIFORMS.” The dhampir responds, unsheathing her second rapier. “..Before it was found that holy weapons could prevent undead resurrections, choristers would use CRUCIFORMS against them. They’d stick them in the corpse and tether spirit to body. It would prevent undead’s rise so long as they were in place. So, all those crosses from before are..”
“I may not be able to truly fell men, but I can at least halter their progress.” He responds flatly. “I will do what I must. Immortality will not elude me.”
With that, Morne flings his cloak upward–not unlike Ava–and disappears in the billows of his sable cloak. It would figure that they would fight similarly, but the half-wolf is all but gone from your sight. You quickly scan the area as you unconsciously form a tight circle with your party members.
