>>5314696You clear your throat, and finally address the tension which has hovered over the last two weeks directly:
“I require your full attention to be on the mission,” you tell her.
She nods, and quietly sways.
“NOT on these… Lewd desires you have been lately expressing.”
Glowie stops swaying, and blinks once, saying nothing. Her expression is neutral, but her body language is stiff. She trembles slightly. If you didn’t know better, you’d think she was going to CRY. Can… Can a bug even do that? Even REPTILIANS rarely do so.
“…Not understand,” she whispers softly.
“I am a Reptilian… A Dragonborn, my people’s champion. I am meant to stay—and to breed—with pureblooded, noble Reptilians.”
“But Novice Fleshweaver says you are… Hybrid, mixed. ‘Degenerateborn.’”
You cringe, holding back a harsh retort. She speaks the words innocently. She does not fully understand the implication—you can tell.
“Yes, well… That is one thing. This… Intimacy, and constant agitation for… For MATING… It cannot continue.”
Glowie is trembling more violently now. You aren’t really sure how to respond, what to do. You’ve never seen anyone, of any race, this emotional. You are completely caught off-guard when, to your shock and horror, she throws herself to the ground in a display of anguish. She tears the Amulet of Disguise from her neck and hurls it aside, and her modified take on the Novice’s form wraps and twists back into hr natural form, with her swollen, worm-like body, her glowing eyespots, her four eyes, her pedipalp-like mandibles, and her altogether too many legs.
…And yet, still, her despair is obvious. It takes you some time to coax her into donning the amulet again, if only so you can properly communicate.
“Not understand…” she repeats. “Grandmother said you would like! I did all reptile things, and mammal things, for courtship! She said you would… You would…”
Oh no. She’s trembling again. Panicking, you reach out and grab her hand. This craved contact seems to steady her. The shameless seductress is nowhere to be seen, though—just the shy, affectionate young creature you first met.
