Still working on the update, so the vote is still open.
>>5481951Advancement would mean becoming a Trustee, instead of a Peon. Better wages, more privileges, and addition consideration when you are eligible for sentencing (to be eligible for sentencing, a peon or trustee must have paid off the full cost of their capture and transport to their prison. For most peons, this isn't too difficult - but for pirates, this is a huge and often insurmountable hurtle. 'Full cost of capture and transport' means the entire cost of the Purging Lancet's expedition, including supplies, consumables, wages, repairs, even deprecation of the hull, equipment and weapons on the ship is divided equally among the pirates that she captured on that expedition. Lucky for Enoch, there were a lot of survivors taken off of the Scheme, and Lancet took other two other pirate ships on the expedition, meaning that Enoch could conceivably pay off his share in a somewhat reasonable timeframe if he had a decent job - like a wrecker - then get sentenced, and pay that off as well. And once you are sentenced, you have the advantage of paying with time as well as your earnings. Once everything is paid up, the Peon or Trustee is sent before the Release Board (there is a Parole board as well, but as a pirate, Enoch is not eligible for sentencing arbitrage - and that stuff often comes with some serious strings attached anyway) and then it is determined where and how the Peon or Trustee will be released. As a a pirate, Enoch will probably not be considered for release back into 'civilization', but there are many frontier settlements that are willing to take skilled workers. Some are desperate enough that they will even help Peons and Trustees pay off their sentence, though that is typically reserved for prisoners with exceptional skills, like doctors and mechanists).
>>5482003I suppose I should clarify a point. You have cellmates regardless of your vote here. In both cases, none of them have EVA certs, but if you vote for being on good terms and get Tinpenny and Allman as your mates, you might be able to convince them to become wreckers like you - though it is not going to be easy. Besides the inherent dangers, and the time that it takes to take the classes - time that you are not earning money - they would also have work an arrangement out with Boss Barone as well, which they are reasonably leery of.
>>5481951>I see what you did there. This is clearly a vote on what kind of mental illness we suffer from!More like what mental illness I suffer from. I could have sworn I attached it.
