With those words she saw their postures quickly straightened and their blue liquid filled eyelids steady themselves. A moment of satisfaction went over UZ1 as she witnessed the men reprepare themselves for the further fight.
+Skitarii move up with the Armiger, Acillians take the rear. We are at risk of being ambushed from hence onwards.+ UZ1 declared on the Noosphere before her systems clicked, “Heavy Weapons Astartes, come closer into the center and within line of sight. The Orks are aiming for ambushes.”
Within seconds she was given a series of affirmations as they all started moving towards. Just as she planned the Acillians were more protecting the soft Skitarii at all sides from the dreadful Xenos attack. Would this matter, well, UZ1 could not really declare at the moment if she was honest.
These creatures employed the secrets of the Warp. This sorcery, which she was sure many of the Orks were not aware they employed, was something that could not be fought with simple ordnance.
For the moment she needed to keep up the scanning and make sure that they were as secured as she could by monitoring. If that meant placing herself between the Skitarii and Acilliand then that was a willing price to pay.
They continued down the road. UZ1 watched as one of the Orks popped out of a doorway only to get their bodies destroyed by one of the Assault Astartes. Her scanners were picking up numerous kills from the forward spearhead as the Knights walked triumphantly through the streets.
The only kill the Heavy Weapons Astartes could claim was the death of a large Squig that looked to have been charging right for the largest Knight. It had nearly a dozen holes left in it when the likely bored Astartes finished their barrage of lascannon fire.
As for the Acillians, only one other time did the Orks try to jump the rear. UZ1 however was aware of their tricks and within milliseconds had Acillian, Rangers, and even the nearby Armiger destroy them with gunfire.
She allowed herself a moment of satisfaction as she looked upon the dead corpses that laid upon the boxes and cans the fools used as cover.
