That sounds like a more extreme version of a Vaccine-attribute's natural behavior. Gomamon might have acted like that, if she took a wrong turn somewhere down the line. Heck, she still could.
<span class="mu-s"><span class="mu-b">"Our Garden was a really, really big one. Normally, it purges itself once it hits occupancy, but ours took forever to hit the limit. And during that time, the Agumon turned the entire area into one big kingdom."</span></span>
ToyAgumon paints a scene for you, and you find yourself filled with distinct horror at the imagery. Fences and blockades, made from the virtual trees that cover the Garden. Cordoned-off areas for Digimon eggs to hatch, with their occupants shuttled off for processing the moment they're born. Those who have no possibility of evolving into a dragon-type Digimon are deleted straight away. The survivors are allowed to join the rest if they pass that test once more as Rookies, and slain if not.
Even at the top, there was separation. True Agumon species were the only ones allowed in the leader's inner circle. Subspecies like black and white (a new type to you!) Agumon were lower down, and those like ToyAgumon were on extremely thin ice. He had Agumon in his name, after all, and even the leader couldn't argue with that designation.
<span class="mu-s"><span class="mu-b">"It was awful, spending all day building and expanding, slaving away just so that guy could grow his army."</span></span>
"Until the partition hit its limit." Squid interrupts.
ToyAgumon nods, and you can imagine what happened next. The armada of Agumon, completely unaware of the outside world, reached capacity. The entire Garden was purged, flushing the data of all occupants out into 87O.
<span class="mu-s">"Jeez... That's..."</span>
"Evil." You mumble. It's a wicked deed that's beyond your comprehension. The system you live in is vile, and you've come to think of it as the ultimate injustice, but hearing that Digimon can exhibit such malice is incredibly jarring. Humans are incapable of doing such a thing to each other, thanks to the guardrails set in place. But these creatures get no such protection. You stare at poor ToyAgumon as Squid pats his head.
"What happened to the Agumon in the end?"
<span class="mu-b"><span class="mu-s">"What he deserved."</span></span> Spits the puppet.
"He started Digivolving. My theory is that information he gained from that time in the Garden was stored up, ready to burst out."
<span class="mu-s">"That checks out, I've never heard of a Champion-level appearing in one, even in a place that can store that many rookies."</span> Phascomon remarks.
<span class="mu-b"><span class="mu-s">"Our post-incident analysis was that he may have even jumped several levels at once. Before the process was complete, however, he was deleted by Brigadramon in a direct assault."</span></span> Kaus Gammamon explains.
Your eyes widen. That beast barely ever moves from the tower, and when it does, it's to eliminate threats with sudden and incredible violence. You heard absolutely nothing about it being deployed during the Agumon Flood; it must have been kept under wraps.
