>>5365539>>5365620>>5365756>He is right you suppose, at least you can feign that much. For good faith with the humans you can accept letting her go, surely that would convince them of your proclaimed innocence about the shipwrecks and the zombies. You would not say that Ubaid outsmarted you, or you certainly don't feel that way. Rather that, as you have dealt with the humans more you realize that they may be of more use or benefit than you first thought. At the behest of your goddess you only ever brought terror and death to them, but now free to act on your own, it seems they could have worth alive as well as dead. At least in service to finding your goddess again at any rate.
So with that in mind, imagining how you might benefit from it, you think it prudent to try to mend your reputation with the humans. These ones at least, the Almhorads. After all, whatever your plans for the humans are, it would always be easier if they were cooperative than not.
<span class="mu-b">"...hmmm, you have wisdom Ubaid. You know, I had kept the women with me for safety, in dealing with you all. You little ones are always hostile, but maybe not all are the same... I will let you leave with her."</span>
<span class="mu-s">"...this you are sure of? I see then we were right to converse with you before violence, you are not so monstrous I think, Tanaloa..."</span>
Although he might have remained suspicious of you as he followed along with your excuses and stories, you can tell the man is genuinely surprised by your acceptance of his proposition. He made it only out of obligation, but here you went and actually listened, and accepted. Though he may not feel differently about you and your monstrous nature, he certainly is starting to think differently about you.
And anyway, even on your behalf it's really not that much to part with at the end of the day. Farhana is a noble lady but unless you intend to just eat her and gain some scant divinity, or sacrifice her in ritual, you can't expect her to ever want to cooperate with you which means a more difficult time doing any sort of supernatural work with her. She served her use, which was to share what information she had, and more importantly to draw the attention of the Almhorads like Ubaid here. Together the lot of them confirm that the humans have nobles to spare, and of greater magnitude than just a lowly noble lady.
