One could easily call the attempt to land on the capital world of the Mitu Collective to be one of the hardest and greatest feats that the Mechanicum had to endure for the war. This situation was the one moment where the Mitu were not having their powers suppressed or a great number of their people dead from soul death. As such for the one moment the Mechanicum experienced the full might of Mitu defenses.
Ships coming through the shielding were quickly assaulted by incoming wreaths of psychic fire that consumed the entire ship in a single moment. Those that avoided such a fate had components that quickly started to rot into rust as time was experienced several times faster in that single instant.
Other ships had the operator’s mind taken over, only for the Machine Spirit to detect the sudden subversion of their host’s mind to cause a sudden execution of the body. Without a pilot these ships quickly fell out of the sky and onto the ground below for the army to finish off. The Mitu were so desperate that one of them tore into the world with a brutal pull of their mind, causing the ship to be sucked up.
The fools that they were.
But after the first wave of servitor driven craft the main force of troop carriers came down upon them. Scanning of the recent attacks gave the Mechanicum knowledge of hotspots so that they could nimbly navigate onto unsecured places all around the planet.
When the beachhead was made the much more valuable craft began to fall upon the planet. One of them rivaled the size of small Imperial Ships that landed with the grace of a feather thanks to its experienced pilot.
From there a horn was blown as the ship opened to reveal a giant made of metal. The Titan, Particep Semper, walked upon the world once more with aching brutality in each of its steps. One shot of its Plasma Annihilator tore through a contingent of Xenos forces dozens of miles away.
With its arrival, whatever hope the Mitu had of defending their home from the invaders had become despair.
