He glances desperately at the man who brought him to you, then at back at you, then the ground, and finally stammers, "My Lord... I-I was not informed of My Lord's desires, and-... I beg My Lord's forgiveness, I would first need... that is, the chief scribe-"
At that moment, a middle-aged man emerges from the doorway behind him, long beard and hair distinctly greying with age. He is dressed richly, in a colourful toga and skirt of matching red and brown. He bows at once, and rushes forward. "Ah, My Lord! I trust you have rested well? I did not see you training in the courtyard this morning, and I was worried that you might be unwell. The scribe, pale and practically shaking, bows and skirts to the side to let him pass, thankful to be out of the spotlight for now. The stranger presses forward, glancing from you to the terrified servant, then back. He smiles placatingly. "What's this I hear about farms and trade, My Lord? If My Lord wishes, I can summon the quartermasters; it is good to take one's mind off troubles, and official business is a sure way to it... but perhaps it would be best to wait until after the coronation...?"
