"Do you really want to know?" There's an odd hesitation in his voice. As if he's not even sure if he should be telling you this. "I'm searching for something. Something that requires the help of people who don't ask too many questions." Captain Abraham mutters what you think is a swear under his breath.
"There's nothing but fucking sea out here. Unless you're hunting for a white whale, I don't see what's so important out here but fish and water." Well, there was that one optional thing of an anomalous artifact, but what's the actual probability of finding anything here? It's all blue as far as you can see.
"Feh." The man in the dress shirt mutters. "I wish it was that. Would be a lot easier than the damned abomination he keeps rambling-"
"SILENCE, WRETCH!" Captain Abraham smashes his hand against the steering wheel. The three crewmembers in the helm quickly lower their heads in an attempt to avoid his wrath.
"What the fuck was that?" You prod at this outburst. "Why am I here, Abraham? Isn't that your role as a captain? To lead your crew to success? How am I supposed to succeed if I don't know why I'm here?"
>17. SUCCESS!
There's a tense silence in the room no one dares to break. Then, the Captain speaks. "There's something very important I'm looking out here. Somewhere in these dark, dark seas. Something that has been evading me for years now. If we don't find it, feh, so be it. That's what the cube is for."
[ANOMALOUS ABILITIES] Wait. What was that thing the Handler was warning us about? The Admiral's Game? That does sound like an anomaly name.
[PERSON OF INTEREST] Could just be an enemy ship. Maybe he's searching for another captain?
"That damned creature, pretending to be a man." Abraham tightens his grip on the ship's steering wheel. "I saw him twenty years ago. When he destroyed the ship I was first mate on.." His mouth twists into a smile with way too many razor sharp teeth. "He didn't even look at me as the rest of my crewmates were drowning around me. Thrashing like fish forced onto dry land. Struggling FOR AIR." Red blood oozes from his gums as he grind his teeth together. "I know he's out here. I know he's waiting for me to find him."
"I'll find him. I have to." A trace of doubt lingers in his voice. <<span class="mu-b">"I have to. I have to."</span>> The other crewmates are, obviously, too afraid to say anything to the rambling old man.
[UNSTABLE] TO THROW A STONE AT MY GLASS HOUSE, I THINK THIS GUY IS A NUTTER.
Before he has time to say anything else, Adam bursts right into the helm room with a look of sheer terror on his face. He was clearly in a rush given the bits of sandwich meat clinging to his shirt. "NICOLE. C'MON. HAVE TO SHOW YOU SOMETHING. CAPTAIN. SOMETHING'S APPROACHING US."
You and the captain immediately exit the helm while the other head crewmates take over the job of steering the damn ship. Various sailors are staring out to something in the distance and you notice that Ashley stopped singing a while ago.
