"Seriously." You relax as much as you can, given the shitty bed you're given. "I'm going to be fine. Maybe a bit of sleep to clear my mind."
[UNSTABLE] HEY FUCK YOU WE DON'T NEED SLEEP. GET UP.
[SCHOLAR OF THE CITY] We're better off exploring. Talking to people. Doing new things. Taking pictures for our newspaper.
[UNSTABLE] WE DON'T HAVE A NEWSPAPER THOUGH?
[SCHOLAR OF THE CITY] We don't?
The voices in your head immediately shuts up when you see the genuine smile on Lex's face. It's not filled with bloodlust fury or any malice like you would expect a thug like him to have. "Okay. Sleep, please. I'll be watching over you. Don't want any of the sailors here to get any ideas." <<span class="mu-b">"Already had to stop some fuck from sneaking up on her while she was asleep."</span>>
"Thank you." You know you're not going to convince him otherwise and fuck, you do feel tired. You try to get as comfortable as you can on your cot, pulling the tissue thin blanket over you. Everything goes black again.
You don't sleep for long. Lex makes an annoyed tick in the back of his throat. "It's only been an hour tops. Seriously, get some sleep." Your mind feels better but yeah, you can't really sleep in this condition. Not after you rested for so long as is.
>RESTRAINT is now 6/9!
"I already slept and, look, Lex. These things are fucking uncomfortable." You slowly crawl out of the shitty cot, your sock-clad feet dangling over the edge of the bed. "I'll explore around the place, tire myself out, then I'll go to bed. I'll just be talking to some people, okay?"
Lex is obviously hesitant to approve of this but he eventually nods in agreement. He grabs onto your arms and helps you right out of the cot. Once you got your footing stabilized, you gesture at him to lead you through the dark maze that is the crew bunks. You can't see more than five feet in front of you and frankly, you rather not pull out your nightvision googles for this.
[SCHOLAR OF THE CITY] However, they said they kept the enemy ship. If we're exploring it, the googles would be ideal there.
"Noted." You mutter outloud.
Lex snorts. "Ah. Helpful little things, aren't they? Wish I had them. I can hardly spin an apple in my head." Huh. Normally your allies rightfully judge you when you start talking to yourself. He notices the bemused expression you're giving him and only offers a shrug.
"Fuck, I ain't going to judge." That's all he has to say on the matter. Reading his mind doesn't reveal anything so you simply nod. "Frankly, the fact your eyes glow blue sometimes is weirder." Shit. Well, can't really wear shades during night time so you just hope no one else notices or figures out what that means.
He leads you out of the crew bunks, helping you to weave through the tightly patched cots and greasy, half-awake sailors trying to get a good night sleep in here. You eventually find yourself at a small set of stairs leading to a hatch. Welp, up you go.
The first thing you're hit with is a drop of rain.
