[BOUND BY DUTY] <span class="mu-r">ENOUGH.</span> I refuse to let this continue, get a fucking hold of yourself.
[DYING LIGHT] She really is human underneath all of that, huh? Perhaps we can probe a bit deeper.
You shudder at whatever just passed you by. "I apologize, I'm not quite sure what that was." Before you even finish, you hear something you never thought you would hear from the Agent.
<span class="mu-g">A snort. Followed by failed attempts to repress a giggle fit.</span> "That. Okay, that was something, alright. Pathetic, just like how I remembered you." The scale raises.
"Wait, was I that bad?" You mutter. You thought you were doing good.
The Agent quickly regains her composure. <span class="mu-b">"What use in there in what was? That doesn't forgive what you did, Zeta."</span> She pauses. <span class="mu-b">"Even if it brought back old, once good memories."</span> The scale lowers before raising back up. Half-truth?
<span class="mu-b">"..."</span> The Agent looks away. She flinches, as if she's remembering something particularly cringeworthy or genuinely awful. <span class="mu-b">"I can still smell the burning flesh. Yet you got away, despite my best attempts."</span> The scale raises.
<span class="mu-b">"I wanted to prove to J-Company I COULD FUCKING DO MY JOB! ESPECIALLY AFTER YOU BURNT THE APARTMENT MY-"</span> The Agent pauses.
Wait, what is she talking about again-
[HOPELESS WRECK] ...It was supposed to be empty. There weren't meant to be people in there.
[DYING LIGHT] Our biggest mistake. That we can remember.
<span class="mu-b">"I rather not dwell on my past regrets anymore. Not now."</span> The scale raises. <span class="mu-b">"You're not the pesky bee I'm looking for."</span> The scale lowers. <span class="mu-b">"Let's leave it at that. This discussion was unbecoming of me."</span>
<span class="mu-b">"Let's keep all further discussion to the deal proposed."</span> The Agent looks down. <span class="mu-b">"Any further prodding will constitute an immediate replacement of the Representative due to a conflict of interests."</span> The scale lowers.
[EXPERIENCED] This might be the only time you will get such a reaction out of a B-Company agent. Take advantage of it.
[BOUND BY DUTY] Why would they send her down here despite such a conflict of interest being possible?
[ARBITER] Perhaps they expected you to crumple, not the other way around. If your head wasn't so empty, it might've worked.
"...Look." You try your best to move on from what just happened. If it weren't for the aftertastes of those two meals, you would be at a loss for words. "I can. With some adjustments."
<span class="mu-b">"State your suggestions, Administrator. B-Company will see if it can be tolerated."</span> The scale raises.
"Some flexibility, mostly. On which companies I wish to investigate and report back to you. Or if I can just get out of it through some..." You flip through some quick paperwork the Accounting Department has been doing. "payment."
"Consider it reparations. Hell, we were going to make a sponsorship with another company, maybe help on that for some good will?"
