As such, a divide begins to grow and expand into a chasm, separating the largest families of The Lake of Communion into a sort of feudal group of factions.
Those closest to the faith, the most wealthy and most confident of their birthright to house the Host, become an upper echelon of peoples known as The Great Houses. House Nelyth, Keepers of The Lake, devote their lives to controlling, cleaning, and protecting the sacred waters. House Yros, spore-keepers, historians of the Myceliac Faith, seekers of lost knowledge. And House Morcair, traders and diplomats who seek to expand the Civilization's influence.
But it is not to these four houses that the Vessel is born, no. Infact, as the years pass, sinking suspicions emerge, shadowy whispers beating into the faith that there is no rebirth, that Aeylan was the one and only Speaker. Until, the blooming child of a lowborn house collapses in the center of town, as glowing hyphae expand from the sockets of her oversized helm. Engrossed in power, The Whisper made itself known oncemore.
Quick to rise to power, House Vaelith, once simple hunters and mushroom foragers, now grow to a warrior class of devotees to the young Vessel's protection. Isemay Vaelith, Speaker Reborn, Vessel to The Great Whisper.
Years fly by for this new Vessel, and no more can the sprouting knight sit idle listening to Yrosians spout the great deeds and accomplishments of her predecessor a day longer. She shall make a greater difference than he. She shall bring this world to heel and show just how much The Listeners may grow. Quickly, against her elders wishes, she assembles her squadron of men and makes haste to leave the spore clouds she has eternally known as home.
Before she departs, Isemay approaches the great Gliraximum, petting his spore-matted fur one last time. He represents the great accomplishments of the First Host to his people, and has been a wonderful friend and pet to Isemay as she sprouted. "You were a fine companion, my fine rodent comrade, though I would be neglectful to believe we shall meet again after my departure. I hope my conquest will be as great as my forebearer was. Keep the others safe within your mighty claws, shall you?"
