There’s a silence, and grimaces.
“Didja get her name, at least?” A shake of the head.
A flask is produced. Another speaks out a prayer.
“To Cobalt, then. May they find their place in the stars.”
“So say we all.”
The rest give out the familiar refrain, as they each sip.
Someone else voices another question, while each of them muse over lost comrades.
“So…..what’s in the medbay, that they’re guarding, if not aliens?”
“Shut the fuck up, Danforth.”
