SIDE STORY: BATTLE OF KAPPA ISLAND
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgSJBNkY3k8Captain Anne swore as she ducked under a bus-sized Fly's bombing run and retaliated with her Bone Blunderbuss, knocking the oversized insect into the acidic sea as she steered the 'Bonnet' amidst the roiling storm of flies that surrounded the Island-sized Amalgam.
"Sheryl, how's the crew?"
"Just keep steering the boat!" replied her muscular first mate, tossing a 10-foot dead tadpole off the side of the deck by the tail.
"Just our bloody luck." cursed Anne as the crew of the Bonnet returned fire with the Calcite Cannons on their ship. Anne had planned for a normal fishing trip to hunt for Northern Shielded-Salmon-Sharks. But by some freak of coincidence and bad luck she got caught up in a scuffle with the 'Dead-Shimp Pirate fleet' who were chasing 'Spanish Lady' and the 'HF Majesty'. But just as things took a turn for the bad, it got worse when Kappa Island surfaced out of nowhere and swallowed many of the 'Dead-Shimps' pirate fleet in a single go before its bus-sized flies began picking off the rest. Which led their current situation: the 'Bonnet' pulling escort duty protecting both the 'Spanish lady' and the 'HF Majesty' as they attempted to out-run the island-sized amalgam.
In Anne's words: caught in a bloody storm without a sail.
Finally finding a brief break in the battle, Captain Anne reached for the Skintalker's Naval radio and called an S.O.S Message for what seemed to be the umpteenth time.
<MAYDAY MAYDAY! This is the fishing vessel 'Bonnet' alongside Passenger ship 'Spanish lady' and merchant vessel 'HF Majesty'! We are under assault by Kappa Island! I repeat, we are under assault by Kappa Island. Is there anyone out there who can help?>
Something large and sleek flew overhead in the midst of the storm, leaving a trail of burnt flesh and smoke before bursting with a thunderous explosion, the air-burst missile somehow blowing the storm of flies back as the Island Amalgam recoiled at the sudden daisy chain of pin-cushioning explosions in the air.
<Nice one Bonnet!> radioed the 'HF Majesty.
<That wasn't me.> replied Anne, her answer causing much to the confusion of the other two vessels.
A soft-spoken voice crackled to life over the radio.
<Fishing Vessel 'Bonnet', Passenger ship 'Spanish lady', Merchant vessel 'HF Majesty', this is the Yamato. We are enroute to your location.>
Captain Anne scanned the horizon and saw nothing. <Yamato, We do not have visual of your vessel!>
<You will soon. 12 'o clock, 12 degrees off starboard. Yamato, surfacing.>
