Such an explosion did not kill the Dies Irae for Chaos flowed through its veins. As its power systems were removed they were quickly replaced with the cries of infernal Daemons from the Forge of Souls. But this process took time, and time was what the Omnissiah needed.
The metal under Particep Semper began to morph and chance as bits and components were magnetically yanked from their positions. Several pieces of metal flew and gizmos assumed their new positions as Particep Semper dug his weapon deep into the corpses of the fallen.
Upon the planet of Lucius, it was the recycling of material which made a sacred event. A desert world like Lucius could not allow material to go to waste let it be flesh or metal. Such a cycle was the basis of their conquests and something that was respected by many within the Priesthood for how pragmatic it was. Doing so was indeed a great honor for the fallen as they were to be remade into the future.
Particep Semper rose. One would not that he did not rise by placing the Hellcannon upon the ground but a newly built hand which had settled underneath the armament. Survivors and surveyors watched as the other limb was also a hand with a long staff made from the rotary barrels of the Titan that it was upon.
Mars quaked as the butt of the staff slammed into the ground. With a great effort Particep Semper rose from the ground and stood once again upon its feet. Where once there was a Plasma Annihilator was now a hand, in which a massive weapon was held.
It was a giant axe made with the Cog of the Mechanicus upon it. An Omnissian Axe.
And then it activated. An axeblade made not of metal but the remains of the Plasma Annihilator becoming animated. The axehead was quickly covered in a layer of plasma and electricity as it became something that was beyond a simple Plasma blade and Power weapon. Such a magnificent piece of work to be witnessed made all who looked upon it weep in tears of joy, let them be the forces of Chaos or Loyalist. Such tears were shed because all could accept the Magnificence of the weapon.
So convoluted was the current timestream and how magnificent the axe was that the idea of the Omnissian Axe was carried backwards into time. That this was, in truth, the basis for the design that Tech Priests throughout the ages had unknowingly been referencing. Such was the will of the Machine God for he wished the being that was Particep Semper to be remembered throughout the ages. To honor him in defense of Mars and Terra against the threat of Chaos!
Weapon in hand, Particep Semper charged!
