“W-Who should I bring…?” Ajna doesn’t know what to do.
“Bring Nariko. You know her well!” You don’t want to stress her out more than necessary. It was bad enough to bring Neko, even though the consequences are negligible.
“Right…” That answer puts Ajna’s heart at rest. She looks up to you, asking with her fleeting glance about your feelings on her performance.
Now, you must give Ajna the deepest positive analysis you can think of! She went through many hurdles, so it’s only fitting you show the biggest indicator of approval!
You shoot Ajna with a nice, well-formed, and immutable Thumbs up!
…Ajna nods and walks away with determination. She must’ve thought you were encouraging her to bring Nariko here to the best of her abilities. Nariko is a heavyweight (compared to Ajna), so she may think it won’t be easy but, like, Nariko wants to come over here! If she didn’t, even after all you went through to get her keyboard, you would’ve gone full Chio on her!
You take that back, that’s too nasty to think. You could never treat Nariko that poorly. You’re not a heartless monster like Chio Edamura! She might be cute, reliable, intelligent, and more, but she was too cruel sometimes! She can work that out though…
Anyway, your OG hobo is here with her Keyboard!
“Hello, let me see, Neh-ray-cow.” Amelia reads the same piece of paper from before. Why is she mispronouncing their names? “Please, tell us about yourself.”
“It’s Nariko, Ame. Don’t pretend you don’t know who I am.” Nariko takes offense. “Deborah, it’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance.”
“Nice to meet you too, Nariko! What do you have in store for us today?” Debbie is really excited! The last two auditions have been great, so her expectations are through the roof.
“A song close to my heart. It’s the first song my mother made me learn after it became apparent I had no skills for the brush! It’s called the Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2.” Nariko flexes her fingers before beginning.
“H-Hold on.” Neko knows there’s something off about this.
Nariko started playing one of those songs that everyone seems to know but can’t put their fingers on! She’s mind-blowingly good… But she never stopped, even when it became clear she was good enough to pass. The song lasted almost 10 minutes…
“Woah! Nariko! You’re incredible!” Debbie is the only one who enjoyed it the way you were supposed to. “You pass with flying colors! Welcome, welcome! We all agree, right?”
“Y-Yeah, yeah, yeah…” Neko agrees like she has been forced to do it.
“I’m scared.” Amelia doesn’t know how to feel. “J-Just bring Yu, please…”
“Excellent!” Nariko smiles from ear to ear. She’s proud of herself! Everyone should be proud of her!
She’s staring at you for some of the adulation she feels entitled to, but she’s happy either way because she can sense that you enjoyed it.
