“You two don’t seem to know each other well.” You believe it’s odd, they’re brothers, aren’t they? You know too much about Amelia for your own good, and you didn’t even want to.
“Me and Max? What are you talking about? We’re droplets from the same fountain!” Gamadiel dismisses your observation for laughs.
“Truly identical.” It’s difficult for you to tell, but Yareli deadpans.
“Dear Brother, do not feign ignorance. If he’s astute enough to come to this conclusion, it’s pointless to pretend otherwise.” Maximum is always at odds with how his brother manages the conversation.
“If you say so!” Gamadiel doesn’t think it takes too much to realize. “We’re half-breeds, Stinky Jr. Half-siblings, but full brothers. Right, Max?” It’s similar to you and Amelia! But like your mother always used to say, there’s no such thing as ‘half-siblings’. You’re either part of the same family or not.
“Yes, we were raised by our own lovely mothers, didn’t grow up together, you see? We went to the same academy, the place we met for the first time, at age 14, at the request of our father: Gamadiel Price Sr.” Judging by the way he talks about him, Maximum has a lot of respect for his own father.
“Now we’re stuck here tryin’ to bail out Max’s crush...” Gamadiel turns his gaze towards the jail room.
“Do not speak about Ophelia in such a manner.” Maximum twitches his head towards Gamadiel. It’s a sensitive topic for him. “She’s an individual I hold deep respect for, who helped me grow into who I am today, you understand? A dear friend of mine, you know? Romantic feelings are beneath us. And I’m only here to request the item she was holding for both of us, dear brother. I’m not here obstructing justice. Trash *needs* to be taken out, regardless of my feelings on the matter.”
“Still hurt your babysitter left you dry, huh?” Gamadiel is trying to get into his brother’s nerves for reasons that elude you.
“Leaving your responsibilities behind is something you can relate to, right, Gamadiel?
“Har Har Har! You got me there!” Gamadiel takes it well.
“Besides, she performed her duties like a consummated professional until her final day. Which is why I believe in her innocence, you see?” Maximum isn’t amused. Their sibling relationship is quite rocky.
“Too bad evidence says otherwise. Right, Lieutenant?” Gamadiel smirks at Vanessa.
“Yes, absolutely!” Vanessa didn’t think she’d be part of the conversation.
“We’ll see how the events unfold.” Maximum isn’t as assured on Ophelia’s culpability.
