"Okay, I get the idea. I can't return the body, my soul's linked to it, so the best I can do is move out away from here," she says with a resigned sigh. "I was starting to have fun with this body too, did you see my new haircut? I also put on some makeup but I didn't want to make it too noticeable."
"The hair could use some work."
"Well, fuck you too. Can't I at least get some compliments before you never see me again?"
"You're- You're not moving out anywhere, I'm sure if you lie low and don't bring attention to yourself, then-"
"No, that's only delaying the inevitable. They're going to find out the body looks eerily like me, and then it's over for me. That's the life of a parasite, the moment your host becomes dangerous, you get out and hope the next host doesn't suck as much." She lays back against the wall, scanning her belongings in her room.
"Mirabelle, it's fine. Table is the one that dug this up, remember? That means the case can be forgotten. Besides, aren't you technically a wraith now? Doesn't that make you a proper citizen?"
She looks surprised. "What? No, it was only me and Fet that dug it up, there wasn't anyone else, right? Anyway, I don't know what you're trying to get at, but being a Wraith is complicated, what race you were before becoming one is what tends to matter. Legally speaking, the only way I could get away with it is if I could prove the dead girl gave her consent to be possessed by me."
