>>5891278+A vision comes to Myrddin. Modern civilization holds belief in reincarnation, for <̴͔͊̓ư̴̟n̶̰̞͊̐k̴͔̯̔̕ń̶o̴͍̻̒w̵͎͝n̵̳̞͗́ ̸͇͘p̷͖̿͗o̵w̶e̵̞̖͗̀ŕ̷̠>̴̦̌ has revealed a few of its truths.
When little Ferris formed within his mother, two souls came to occupy his vessel. While rare, he is far from the first. Karbonne was formed as a tiger's soul, but followed Ferris into his human body.
But Karbonne was dormant, as if he weren't even there, until the boy began his recent journey to becoming a man.+
Karbonne speaks to Myrddin, pacing around him. Sizing him up.
+I only care for two things,
Our survival, and our progeny.
Those who get in the way of us bearing progeny will learn a harsh lesson.
Those who threaten us will die.
My brother wants love, fame, and peace.
He wants games and history.
A human's wants are frivolous and needlessly complex.
He is a cub, and must be allowed to grow with what he needs.
Though he is but a bestial soul, Karbonne knows what Ferris knows, feels what he feels. This link helps him communicate, but at the same time, it exposes him to the storm in his brother's heart.
When Ferris feels anguish or in terror, it brings Karbonne to occupy his body and <̴̢̩̒̄ă̸̙l̴̦̙̇ṭ̷̉e̶̫̋̋r̷̢͕ś̷̤>̵̥̙̓͑ it. Karbonne only acts according to what he believes is correct, according to the rules of nature.
The only solution is for the two of them to become truly united in thought and belief; as Ferris wields Karbonne to his will, so Karbonne wields Ferris to *his* will.
The pale fades, Myrddin retracts, and events flow as if nothing happened.+
