“Stop gawking, all of you! You should be ashamed! If you don't want your heads decorating elven pikes, then come and help with the gates!”
“Don't you dare! Do you know how many people are still out there?! I won't let you throw away their lives!”
“What's the point?! How are we supposed to stop an army like that?! We should just surrender, it's better than throwing our lives away trying to stop the inevitable!”
“A true Redguard is worth a dozen mer! I'd rather die than bow before an elf!”
“You're all assuming they're here to invade! Surely we'd know if the Dominion was at war with us! You can't just assume their intentions!”
So many voices, but not nearly enough action. Rather than add your voice to the cacophony, you choose to take action instead – but what will you do, in the face of an invasion?
>Flee from Taneth before the gates are sealed. In the chaos, maybe some horses have been left outside of the city's limits. Perhaps you can steal one and ride away. You refuse to share the city's fate.
>Stop anyone who tries to close the gates. There's just too many of them, resistance would be futile. If you surrender to the Thalmor, perhaps they will be generous enough to show mercy.
>Get down there and seal the gates. Anyone who tries to stop you is a traitor who is risking the lives of everyone in the city. It doesn't matter how many people are still out there, Taneth comes first.
>Leave for the waterfront to try and rescue as many people as you can. There is a good chance that you might be locked out before you're able to return, but it's worth the risk.
>Leave the southern wall behind and go back to your men. You will return to the Vault with Janos and Radan, to await further orders. You refuse to contribute to the madness unfolding here.
