“Good to hear. But I have to go, my granddaughter's birthday is today after all.” you tell him, the Demon God looking blankly at you a moment. Then he smiles, a knowing look on his face.
“Ah, indeed. Here, a gift for you to give the young Fateless one's daughter, from me.” he says, reaching a hand into a dark portal and pulling out a ring, offering it to you. Curious, you approach, looking at the ring in his raised hand. It appears to be carved of a single gemstone, with an intricate design carved on the face of it. “This is known as a Sage Ring. It will greatly increase your granddaughter's spell casting speed, useful when every moment counts.”
“Thank you, Mechikabura.” you say, accepting the offer. The two of you share a nod of understanding, then he speaks one last time.
“Now, I must be off. When she wakes up and realizes these are missing, there'll be a hunt for my head. I must ready myself for the ritual. Until then, stay safe.”
And without another word the Demon God makes one of his dark portals, backing through it and vanishing. The moment he does the dark veil around you all vanishes as if it never were, you taking a deep breath in, then sighing out.
“Alright, let's get our clothes and get ready.” you tell your wife, who nods once to you. “Enough standing around, let's get moving.”
You and Meloka search around for your clothes, only to find them strewn about from the battles and in need of washing. So, you both gather your things, heading back to the ship and freshening up, getting dressed back in your armors for the visit. You both take your weapons as well, despite having beaten the Time Patrol back once today, you doubt they'll actually leave you alone. Neither of you say a word when you do, both grabbing your weapons then seeing the other do the same, you feeling as if the two of you just understand each other even more. And once everyone is readied to go, you all meet on your island.
“Let's go.” you say, raising your right hand to your forehead while telepathically reaching out to your oldest-born son. “Are you ready for us to come down?”
“Just a moment, I'm still inside the house.” your son replies as you find his ki, it taking a moment for him to reply. “There, I'm ready now.”
And with a thought you teleport, leaving your world behind to once more travel to your son's.
