Even near a light, it was rather hard to see since it was furnished in black, only exception being the silvery throat and chape of the scabbard. The blade itself seems to be cared for, but I can tell it is starting to show its age: the once fully blackened hilt has spots where bare metal is exposed, small nicks are present all throughout the blade, and dust inevitably found their way on the tip. It will last a couple lifetimes more under diligent maintenance. Nara seems to know this as well, judging from the way she looks at it. Not melancholic. Not brief. Just an acknowledgment.
