Your journey home is uneventful, but highly stressful. From the moment you walk through the doors of VVV and step out into the shopping plaza, you're on the lookout for bots. Sure enough, you see one going around and interviewing people. The majority of civilians are fully cooperative, so they're gummed up by the sheer density of possible interviewees. You turn tail and go the other way.
Taking the backstreets and alleyways allows you to avoid any servitors. However, there are points where you can't help but move through crowds. You chat with Phascomon as you go along.
"This metadata thing is going to be a real hassle..."
<span class="mu-s">"Yeah. But I think you did the right thing. Giving it to one person means giving it to all of them. I know Squid seems nice to you, but you don't want to be giving those guys the source code to your whole existence."</span>
"Maybe Doc will have a solution. Her expertise seems to be with systems. Doc just does a little bit of everything."
<span class="mu-s">"There's a lot to catch him up on, huh? But I kinda want to take it easy for a bit before we go visit him. Y'know? I think we've earned a break."</span>
That's true. You and Phascomon have been hard at work, and have barely had a free moment ever since you dove into that sewer. The progress you've made has more than compensated for the week of slacking your partner did. You could do with some time to get rid of all that mental exhaustion, even if you're unhurt and Phascomon is recovering steadily.
After you take your break, the first thing you'll be doing is visiting Doc. You also assume that taking a long break will allow for the situation to blow over, and reduce the AI density outside. How long do you plan to rest, when you reach home?
>One Day. You want to seek him out and progress your quest as soon as possible. It might be stressful for you and Phascomon, but you feel too antsy to just stay put for long.
>A couple of days. You don't want to go immediately, but you also don't want to put it off. This middle ground will let you rest up, and maybe do a bit of training.
>A week. Comparatively long, considering that you've only known Phascomon for a bit more than that. This will give you time to both rest and prepare yourself for another big journey.
