>>5762656You decide to start with what should be the most unpleasant of the three. You’d hardly ever interrogated anyone before, but fortunately you’d have Leopold to assist you with the process. You just hoped that the prisoners in question would be forthcoming with their information. You were a soldier after all, not a torturer. Planting a kiss on Ashe’s cheek, you creep out of the bed, quickly dress yourself, and depart before he can manage to stir awake.
>“Have the prisoners caused any trouble?” You ask Leopold. The two of you walk alongside each other as you near the depths of the Garreg Mach dungeons.“None.” The paladin replies. “That repulsive dark mage doesn’t seem too bothered. He’s already been down there once, so I suppose he knows what to expect. As for Adrian, he seems more dejected than anything. In fact, most of the prisoners we managed to bring back feel that way. They were expecting to be handed an easy victory. Instead, they were completely routed and abandoned by their leader. Any appetite they had for fighting has likely been suppressed.”
You’d only visited these dungeons once before, but they certainly weren’t any more welcoming than the last time. With no natural light source, you’re forced to rely on torches for vision. The cells, which were usually mostly empty, were now filled to the brim with prisoners taken from the battle. Conditions were not the greatest. It wasn’t as if the Knights of Seiros had a surplus of supplies to share with the Orthodox and Dukedom soldiers. Still, Leopold had so far refused to execute any who had willingly surrendered themselves over. That decision, he said, would belong to none but the “Sword of Seiros” herself.
“Wake up, you bastards.” Leopold spits as the two of you reach your destination. Fritz and Adrian shared a cell to themselves all the way at the end of the dungeon, separate from the other soldiers. “We’ve got some questions for you.”
“Finally.” Fritz yawns, stretching his shackled arms as best as he could. “Would it have killed you folks to change the place up a bit? It’s exactly as I remember it the last time.”
“I could make it worse for you if you’d prefer, worm.” Leopold says. “It all depends on how you choose to answer.”
“Oh no, you’re too kind.” Fritz smirks. “Honestly, this is perfectly acceptable.”
Adrian does not share the same nonchalant attitude as his cell mate. The enemy commander merely keeps his head down, buried in-between his knees.
>“You seem eager to talk.” You chime in. “I thought you’d be more pissed that Bennett left you behind to deal with his problems.”
